Be Inspired - Wax Lyrical

  1. Allow the media to inspire you.
  2. Get in touch with the feelings it inspires.
  3. Put these feelings into words - don’t worry if they don’t “make sense.”

kristinerrettfans:

Listen to this original song by Kristin Errett called “Mirror Mirror.”  Many of us are uncomfortable with the skin we are living in and don’t appreciate what we have.  We are a “soul inside a strangers skin.”  We don’t like what we see and are so self critical, but we are all beautiful and unique and colorful in our own ways.  This song portrays how every girl/woman feels.  Just remember, you are beautiful exactly how you are. “So when I wake up and I make up for the day, my reflection’s not perfection and that’s okay… it took so long for me to see that who I am is who I want to be.”

You can purchase her cd at www.kristinerrett.com- it is only 8$ and so worth it! she will even include a personal note!

Rich Kids of Instagram Epitomize Everything That Is Wrong with Instagram.

To be certain, these wealthy kid pix are particularly funny (and also sad) because they showcase a gross variant of entitlement. Preteens posing with helicopters they did nothing to earn and posting the pictures online for others to ogle provides an easy in for commentary on the state of the American dream. (Dead.) While we don’t disagree with that reading, it’s par for the course on Instagram, a shallow medium all about promoting superficiality that photo takers did little to nothing to earn. Read more.

Why is Picasso so Great?
What’s so great about…
Why do you think people say this is so great?
List what makes it “outstanding?”
What would you do differently?
How a Rip in This Picasso is Worth $7.5 Million

Femme Assise dans un Fauteuil (Woman Sitting in a Chair), a jaggedy portrait in the typical Picasso style, will hit the auction block tonight at Sotheby’s. And in the scrutiny of what’s expected to be the second-most-expensive piece of art sold in the next two weeks (asking price: $20 to $30 million, in case you’re in the market), we learn how much a two-inch tear in a Picasso can cost.
Here’s the story: a lawsuit dug up on the painting reveals that in 2009, financer Teddy Forstmann’s insurance company sued an art gallery housing the portrait for a rip below the figure’s neck due to “careless, negligent, reckless, and otherwise improper handling of the work,” according to Vanity Fair’s Alexandra Peers. That supposedly reduced the value of the painting by $7.5 million, the amount the insurance company paid out to Forstmann, according to the claim. Sotheby’s only slyly mentioned the repair, without fully disclosing the damage: “There is a two-inch repair below the figure’s neck where the canvas has been stitched. … Under UV light, one hairline retouching to address repair, otherwise fine.”

Celeb Stalker of the Day: Sarah M., the 16-year-old professional stalker known for her 4,500-strong collectionof photos of herself posing with celebs, is officially famous in her own right after a coveted sit-down today with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America. Unfortunately, the interview doesn’t shed any light on her last name, or what her dad does for a living to help facilitate so many encounters, so we’ll have to make do with these morsels:

Why does she do it?

“I was just always really into pop culture. … I wanted to go out there and see it for myself, because I read so much negative stuff about all my favorite people.”

How do you track down all the stars?

“As long as I got straight A’s in school, [my dad] would take me to any event that he possibly could.”
